Wooo Resort

UI/UX Design

This project designs an exclusive resort for dogs, prioritizing their relaxation and enjoyment while offering dog owners intuitive UI/UX tools to book services, join activities, and monitor their pets' experiences effortlessly

Project Brief
Nowadays, dogs are not just pets but cherished members of the family. I have a dog named Toto, and I've always wanted to give him the very best—sharing beautiful moments and breathtaking views together. I want to treasure every precious memory with my dog. This project is designed for pet owners like me, aiming to provide more pet-friendly accommodations and activities in daily life. It goes beyond offering an exclusive vacation space for dogs; it also ensures that dog owners can easily book services, join activities, and monitor their dogs' experiences through an intuitive UI/UX design. The goal is to create efficient interactions and a fulfilling user experience for both dogs and their owners.

Challenge
The UI/UX design needed to balance a simple and intuitive interface with complex functionality. The needs of dog owners include booking, personalized settings, and real-time tracking of their dog's status, so a robust yet easy-to-use system is needed to ensure that complex functionality does not interfere with the smoothness of the user experience.
The needs of different dog breeds and individuals vary significantly, and the design must provide personalized settings that allow users to customize their experience based on the characteristics of their dog (e.g., breed, age, dietary preferences, etc.).

Why?
First of all, I also have a dog and my first choice often is to be able to take my dog out with me to do something. I would like to be able to take my dog with me to more places. The fact is that there are still a lot of places that are restricted to dogs, and most of them involve my dog accompanying me to human places. I wish there was a place created just for my dog.
Secondly, I also wanted a place where my dog could go to meet more friends and have a day that was truly his own.
Lastly, most people say that dogs are part of the family, but there are no places that are just for dogs, they are just for humans and then dogs are allowed to enter. There are even places where dogs are only allowed to stay in the bag and not on the ground

Background Research
Utilizing data on parenting ratios and pet separation anxiety and travel habits of different large and small dogs in North America, we have gained an in-depth understanding of the needs of our target users to provide data support for the creation of a comprehensive dog-friendly resort.

Separation Anxiety

Research and data on separation anxiety, security and companionship in dogs

  • A 2003 study published in the Journal of Applied Animal Behavior Science found that dogs use their owners as a “safe base” and look to them for security in unfamiliar situations. This is similar to the emotional patterns of children who rely on their parents.

  • Approximately 20-40% of dogs show some form of separation anxiety, especially when left alone for more than 4 hours, indicating an extremely high need for their owner's company.

  • Studies have shown that prolonged separation not only affects a dog's mood, but can also lead to physical health problems.

  • Social interaction between dogs and humans through behaviors such as petting, talking and playing is vital to a dog's mental health.

User Research
